This week, two forwards from the Women’s soccer team share the title of athlete of the week.
Senior Stacy Bair is starting what will be her final season as a Wildcat and has played in 53 games leading up to this season, while starting in 35 of those games. As a player up to this season, she has shot 40 of 89 shots on frame for a .449 shot on goal percentage and has netted 11 goals and seven assists on her career leading up to this season.
This past week, she was named the HERO sports Division I Gem of the Week for her performance in the Sept. 4 game versus New Mexico State where Bair notched three assists for the team in the 3-0 defeat of NMSU. This made Bair the first player in 10 years to earn three consecutive assists in one game.
Freshman Morgan Quarnberg currently leads the team with three goals on the season, two of which were netted in there most recent home game against Colorado College. She has bee an offensive force for the Wildcats with 5 of 6 shots on goal for an SOG percentage of .833, leading all scorers on the team.
The women will play again Sept. 18 as they host Loyola Marymount. The game will kick off at 3 p.m.
